For thousands of years plants were our only defense against insects, fungus and disease. And in many matriarchal societies, the knowledge of the plants was passed down as part of a tradition among women, spanning generations and centuries, because from ancient times and still today it’s up to women to keep their family healthy.

So at the beginning of the Atlantic WeedBoard we want to introduce one of those women, the Garifuna healer Arzu Mountain Spirit who shares some amazing insight from both the ancient and scientific traditions.
