Hospitals, universities, and licensed medical marijuana dispensaries and producers can apply for the medical marijuana research program. The number of medical marijuana dispensaries in Connecticut doubled in December 2018 when 9 new licenses were approved. There are now 31 qualifying conditions for adults and 8 for those under 18.
